Federation meeting stymied
Hopes of the moribund Federation of the Parsi Zoroastrian Anjumans of India (FPZAI) being revived were dashed when a meeting scheduled for October 2, 2022 was "postponed till further notice." The email dated September 13 from FPZAI president Armaity Tirandaz cited no reason for the postponement. The all-India body has not met, physically or virtually for the past three years.
An email dated September 1 from BPP deputy chief executive officer Shehnaaz Khambatta had announced the meeting was to be held at the Banaji Atash Behram Hall at 10 a.m. on October 2.
The FPZAI with around 70 anjumans as members was largely a rubber stamp for the former BPP chairman Yazdi Desai. Attendence at meetings was largely from south Gujarat with the major anjumans either not attending or doing so sporadically.
