I was very saddened to read about the fracas at the election meeting being conducted by the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) at Rustom Baug in Byculla on June 26, 2011 ("A day of shame,” Parsiana, July 7, 2011).
The BPP has lost the right to be the conscience keeper of our community. At the next election right-thinking Parsis must forfeit the BPP’s right to lead our community. All the sitting trustees must be routed, as they have proved to be totally useless.
Zoroastrian associations around the world must refuse to accept the BPP as their apex body, as it has displayed qualities only of intrigues, infighting and intense maara maari (fighting).
