In early 2020 the Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America (FEZANA) was keen to avail an offer from the University of Toronto (UoT) to establish the FEZANA Professorship of Zoroastrian Languages and Literature in perpetuity in North America. UoT had offered to match CAD 1.5 million (Rs 8,41,57,590) if FEZANA was able to raise USD 1.5 million (Rs 11,25,15,000) by April 30, 2020. However, with the Covid-19 pandemic interrupting the donation drive, "we are in discussion with the University for an extension till April 2021,” FEZANA president Arzan Wadia clarified in August.
