Inspirational woman

Jalloo Wadia (pictured), who passed away in Vadodara at the age of 74 on September 21, 2024, was known as Madam and "The Queen.”  A great philanthropist, she would extend help to anyone who knocked at her door. An animal and bird lover, she would feed hundreds of dogs and cows at the Animal Shelter at Vadodara every month. In 2005 she won the title of International Laughter Queen, for which achievement she was personally felicitated by Narendra Modi, then chief minister of Gujarat. Her husband was Neville Wadia, Guinness world record holder and the laughter ambassador of the International Laughter Club. Together the couple founded the New Sunrise School in Vadodara in 1976. Jalloo was the principal and later chairperson for 27 years. An inspirational lady, she was full of life and enthusiasm to do good for others, whether her staff and students, family and friends or needy people of all communities. She was a role model for all and has left behind a legacy to be proud of.                               RUSSY WADIA Vadodara, Gujarat russywadia@gmail.com  ...
