The Bai Dosibai Kotwal Parsi Orphanage, Luncikui, Navsari, founded in 1923, is run for the benefit of very poor as well as orphan Parsi Zoroastrian boys who come from the interior villages of Gujarat and Maharashtra. The total number of inmates is 40 at present. They attend primary, secondary, higher secondary and technical schools in Navsari. Their parents are not in a position to contribute anything towards the expenses of their sons and wards, and the Orphanage has to bear all the expenses of their education, boarding, lodging, clothing, laundry, medical expenses, etc. Being backward in studies, the boys have to be given extra coaching in school subjects by private tutors who are paid by the Orphanage.
Due to soaring prices and inflation as well as decreasing interest on the corpus it is becoming extremely difficult for the Orphanage trust to make both ends meet. In order to carry on despite financial difficulties, we have to depend upon generous donations from charity trusts and charitably inclined persons to meet our expenses.
