The Seth Jamshedji Dadabhai Amaria (Sodawaterwalla) Agiary, observed its 150th salgirah on Fravardin mah, Fravardin roz, September 2, 2024 with a jashan led by Ervad Pervez Karajia that was attended by nearly 25 devotees. The fire temple sees two to four worshippers daily, trustee Anahita Desai told Parsiana.
The holy fire was first consecrated in 1884. Amaria had installed a dadgah 10 years earlier at a nearby site, notes Marzban Giara in Global Directory of Zoroastrian Fire Temples. The Agiary was restored in 2021 at a cost of over Rs 50 lakhs. F. J.
