The profile on the very gifted Boman Desai ("A novel composer,” Parsiana, April 21-May 6, 2023) made for a fascinating read. For someone to have that sort of extraordinary conviction in his multifarious talents is one thing. But to realize them over a period of decades and that too with such singular dedication, quite another. Desai’s oeuvre as a creative person with wide-ranging interests from writing to music and painting is a truly daunting one and, if I may add, rather inspirational. What’s remarkable to note is his capacity for personal growth throughout his advancing years, a feat nothing short of staggering.
I was also pleasantly surprised to discover that his younger brother happens to be Ronnie (pictured); a man who is an institution for those of us in advertising, especially creative people. His sound studios are every creative person’s first port of call when it comes to any recordings, not least because of the fun sessions with the owner himself; for the man happens to be everybody’s favorite raconteur. Methinks a feature on him in your cherished magazine is long overdue.
