Kekoo Nicholson (pictured), managing director of the advertising consultancy firm of Selvel was re-elected president of the Cricket Club of India (CCI) at the election held on September 23 and 24, 2016. He will continue as president for another two-year term. Though his first term was mired in controversy, with unsavory accusations that he had stalked and had an affair with a married lady member whose father complained in writing to the Club, and even took the matter to the mainstream Press, Nicholson polled more votes than the other contenders, Kapill Malhotra and Nitin Dossa. As a member remarked after the election, it was because Nicholson was honest and the Club’s funds were secure in his charge.
Businessmen Darayus Mehta and Naval Pandole continue to remain on the executive committee for the duration of their respective terms, while industrialist Noel Tata is a nominated member.
