"Changing customs"

I would respectfully disagree with Dadi Surti’s "Changing Customs" (Parsiana, August 7, 2018). The Zoroastrian religion and its old/ancient practices are not up for speculation! Would Muslims, Hindus or Christians do this with their practices/symbols? No! I agree Parsis tend to conveniently forget many things including the sudreh and kusti. But this does not mean we support or encourage this. Tomorrow it will be said let’s forget reading the Avesta or going to the agiary! Let’s not drift away from all these sound, old practices by taking refuge in arguments that Zoroaster did this and not that! Just by speculation we should not shun our centuries old practices which define us as Zarathushtis. ISPHANYAR BHANDARA   Rawalpindi, Pakistan imbhandara@gmail.com...
