Greening their cities

For their efforts in "greening the environment” by planting around 2,500 saplings in the old and new Tower of Silence premises in the twin cities in 2022, and 34,000 cumulatively, the Parsi Zoroastrian Anjuman of Secunderabad and Hyderabad (PZASH) was felicitated for the seventh consecutive year by the Confederation of Indian Industry’s Telangana State Council at ITC Grand Kakatiya Hotel on March 7, 2023, stated PZASH trustee Jehangir Bisney. Some saplings were planted by the Anjuman while some (were) distributed to community members in an attempt to make the state of Telangana ‘greener and cleaner,’” he noted. PZASH trustee Omim Debara was a key initiator of the program for the Anjuman, Bisney noted. Inaugurated in 2015 by chief minister Chandrasekhar Rao, its objective is planting trees and greening the state. "Plant a tree, save a life” is the slogan of the project. Reportedly, 46 crore saplings were planted in 2016 alone. ...
