UTV’s Zarina Mehta and Zia Mody of AZB and Partners retain their positions in the list of "The Most Powerful Women in Indian Business” compiled by Business Today (BT), September 18, 2011. Godrej’s Tanya Dubash is in "The Other 25,” a list of those women who were strong contenders, but who were not included in the BT Top 25 this year.
Under the heading "Relishing problems,” the magazine describes Mehta’s "child-like enthusiasm” as infectious. Mehta is Chief Creative Officer of Broadcasting. UTV recently launched a new channel called UTV Stars (the official channel of Bollywood). "Everyone is expecting an edgy channel, not routine Bollywood… When things go smooth I’m bored to death. I don’t live for the result. I live for the actual act of fixing the problem,” the business publication quotes Mehta, adding that she and her husband Ronnie Screwvala recently sold their stakes in the company to Walt Disney. Asked whether she thought things would change, Mehta said she is sure she will continue working.

Mody, who follows the Baha’i faith, is managing partner at AZB and Partners. Having started her legal practice at a time when there were hardly any women lawyers, Mody told the magazine that the "nurturing environment” that the judges of the Bombay High Court provided in those early days gave her the required confidence to argue cases in the state’s highest court with barely three years experience at the bar.
Dubash is executive director and president, marketing, Godrej Group and is an alumna of the Harvard Business School, the magazine briefly states.
