With the inauguration of the Ballaleshwar Devasthan Kausalaya Lalchand Rohra Rotary Eye Hospital in Pali, district Raigad on June 15, 2013, by chief guest Dr Balkrishna Inamdar, District Governor of Rotary International District 3140 and guest of honor V. K. Jadav, Charity Commissioner of Bombay, people in the heart of rural Maharashtra can look forward to receiving proper ophthalmic care.

An initiative of the Rotary Club of Bombay Hills South, it was under the presidentship of Gayomard Panthaki that this unique project, begun in 2010, came to fruition, mentions a write-up sent to Parsiana by Godrej Dotivala, district chairman of the Rotary Club. The Eye Hospital is the result of joint efforts of the trustees of four trusts — the Rotary Club of Bombay Hills Charity Trust, the Ballaleshwar Devasthan Trust, the Lalchand Rohra Foundation Charitable Trust and the Haji Bachooali Eye Hospital Trust, the write-up notes.
Once the Hospital is up and running it will provide total eye care to the inhabitants of several villages in the vicinity who can have conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors, etc treated there.
