BPP insurance scheme

"The Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) has come out with a unique group medical insurance policy for Parsi families which is not available under an individual mediclaim policy,” stated a mid-March press release from the trust. "The premium is kept very competitive.” Terming the initiative "unique,” BPP chairman Viraf Mehta told Parsiana that the policy "covers all the exclusions under the normal individual mediclaim insurance policy.”  Pre-existing ailments are covered from day one… The policy is proposed to cover a family of self, spouse and two dependent children up to the age of 25 years. The cover for a family of four is up to Rs 20 lakhs. There is no age limit… Physically and mentally challenged children would be covered.” Mehta also notes, "The other Parsi trusts which in the past were helping our members in case of hospitalization… may not have the funds to help, but that would be taken care in this manner. "The BPP has truly come out with the best welfare option for the community,” claimed Mehta. ...
