“The prodigal returns”

It is indeed disheartening to read the response by Jamshed Irani to my letter ("The prodigal returns,” Readers’ Forum, Parsiana, June 7, 2015). If Parsis have decided to perish, who but Ahura can help them? If we have decided to destroy our identity as Parsis and our Parsipanu, how can anyone help us? We can respect other religions, as most of us do, and yet maintain our own identity. If we want Parsis to survive we will have to marry early, within the community and have three or four children. I agree with Irani when he says parents and grandparents are responsible. It is in our hands to inculcate love, respect and faith in our religion in our children. If we fail to do so, we will soon be gone. "Bhelpuri” denotes dilution of our population and our own destruction. Do we wish to survive or to perish?        ARMIN DUTIA MOTASHAW Ahmedabad armindutiamotashaw@gmail.com ...
