This is apropos your editorial "Not permissible in India” (Parsiana, May 21-June 6, 2023) about women mobedyars. The Visperad 3:4 says: "I want to appoint the woman whose good thoughts, words and deeds prevail, who is well taught, who is an authority for rites and who is truthful. (We worship) Spenta Armaiti (a female Amesha Spenta) and all your noble women O Ahura Mazda!”
The rights that the Nirangistan accords to women for performing various rites often seem unbelievable to present day priests. Even the ninth century texts, written 200 years after the Arab conquest of Iran, accord the same status......
