Finding Freany

I am writing a biographical essay on Dr Freany K. R. Cama (pictured) (1866-1950) at the request of Dr Nawaz Mody of The K. R. Cama Oriental Institute. I have some information on Cama’s lineage, her studies at Grant Medical College and abroad and her work at Cama Hospital. I lack information on her as a person, her family life and later life. In particular, I would like to learn about her childhood, stint as house surgeon and second physician (acting) at the Cama Hospital in Bombay; experiences as a student in England, Scotland and Ireland; work at the Dufferin Hospitals in Karachi and Patiala, and subsequent career in Bombay. What medical research did she do? Did she publish scientific papers? I understand she married Murzban Muncherjee, an advocate in Bombay, and they later divorced, but have no information on him or their married life. I would like to fill in the gaps in my account with help from readers of Parsiana and would be grateful for any details on these or any other aspects of Cama’s life and work.                     Dr SUNIL PANDYA shunil3@gmail.com ...
