Clarification

The item "A stamp for the Sutarias” (Events and Personalities, Parsiana, September 7-20, 2023) about twin artistes Tara and Pia Sutaria’s visit to Bhutan during which a stamp was made in their honor resulted in a reader informing us that "Bhutan allows for any image to be printed on a stamp.” Anyone can walk into a post office, select an image and have a full sheet of stamps printed, stated the reader, based on his personal experience. While agreeing, the twins’ mother Tina replied, "It is true people can go to a post office and have their stamp made. In this case, however, as they were on an official visit, it was made for them.” ...
