Manager-service engineer Zubin Fouzdar of Air India Engineering Services Limited was awarded a certificate of appreciation by Air India’s chairman and managing director Pradeep Singh Kharola on January 22, 2019 at Airline House, New Delhi. The certificate recognizes Fouzdar’s work in "renovating and upgrading tool stores at various locations and fabrication of special tools resulting in substantial savings.”            Zubin Fouzdar (center) with Pradeep Singh Kharola: "substantial savings" for Air India       Bombay-based Fouzdar told Parsiana on February 13 that his efforts in developing tool stores in proximity of airports have helped in cutting down AOG (aircraft on ground) situations at major destinations. AOG refers to last minute glitches in aircraft that delay take offs or lead to flight cancellations, he explained. The term also includes situations where flights have to turn back to originating stations due to technical problems. His work in developing an in-house fabrication facility has resulted in less dependence on purchase of OEM (original equipment manufacturer) tools and equipment, said the alumnus of the aircraft maintenance course at the Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology, Madras.  ...
