Completing a century is a major milestone for any institution. When the J. B. Vachha (JBV) High School reached that landmark on May 30, 2024, mah Dae, roz Fravardin, YZ 1393, the occasion was celebrated with a fala ni maachi (ceremonial offering of sandalwood to a consecrated fire) in the Aiwisruthrem gah at the Rustom Faramna Agiary in Dadar Parsee Colony (DPC), walking distance from the School. Contributions for the maachi, to give thanks for the past as well as seek blessings for the future, poured in from principals, teachers, students (past and present), as well as well-wishers.

The Agiary is under renovation, but that in no way dampened the spirits of the 100 or so attendees, mostly persons connected with the School in some capacity. Also present for the maachi were trustee Hoshang Sinor, principal Banoo Makujina, one of the oldest teachers, Shernaz Talati, and long-time DPC resident Mithoo Jesia who is involved in many community and social causes.
It was a pleasure meeting and greeting colleagues, teachers from the present and from yesteryears. Ex-students relived their school days, while the present students met many alumni, several of whom have done well in their chosen fields. Good wishes poured in from all around the world, as many former JBV students have settled abroad. There was contentment and a sense of gratitude from all for the blessings so bountifully bestowed on the J. B. Vachha School and those connected with the institute.
