The much delayed election of trustees of the Poona Parsee Panchayat is tentatively scheduled to be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, stated a WhatsApp message from trustee Yezdi Motiwalla. He was the only member of the short-lived seven-member board elected on March 13, 2022 to continue as a trustee once five other members decided to dissolve the board following the stepping down of the chairman and two others whose resignation was not accepted by the board. The six seats have been vacant since January 2023. Motiwalla says he will stand for reelection.

"We would like to inform you that a cheque of Rs 2,00,000 has been submitted, along with a letter, to open a bank account in the name of the Election Officer appointed through the Charity Commissioner Court,” stated Motiwalla.
