Kasad’s award

"I played a semi-classical piece for (the audience),” commented octogenarian harmonica player Coomie Kasad to Parsiana on being felicitated by the Hamsanada Foundation at their "Harmonica Vaibhava” event on June 4, 2023 at Sri Krishnadevaraya Kalamandir in Bangalore. Kasad, who has been playing the instrument ever since she was six years old, noted that another senior harmonica player, Madan Kumar Sharma from Poona, a year younger than her, was also felicitated by the Foundation. She credits her father Tehmurasp Mistry and maestro Phiroze Damri for her prowess with the musical instrument, she said.           Coomie Kasad     In 2007, Kasad was part of the world’s largest harmonica ensemble consisting of 3,898 participants, organized for Matth.Hohner AG, reportedly the oldest and largest producer of harmonicas in the world, in Germany. The event has been featured in Guinness World Records. "Playing any musical instrument carries you away into the land of music. You get lost in the music,” the senior player told The Deccan Herald before the event.    ...
