“A striking situation”

With reference to the article "A striking situation” (Parsiana, July 21-August 6, 2024) pertaining to a mother striking her children, I feel that if families have good social interaction with those around them and a reasonable income, mental health could be improved. In Canada they have community events every week, starting with zumba, a talk and light refreshments, usually in a park. Let baug associations encourage activities suitable for their residents. This could create bonding and a support system. The TV serial Taaraak Mehta ka Oolta Chashma (Taarak Mehta’s inverted spectacles), where the residents of a housing society help each other find solutions when they face common, real life challenges and get involved in sticky situations, may be a mind jogger!  On another note, when I watched the film Maharaj it did pique me that Dadabhai Naoroji is portrayed as a timid, cautious man when he is known to have been a revolutionary. The additional information about Nanabhai Ranina  provided in "Naoroji misrepresented” (Events and Personalities, Parsiana, July 21-August 6, 2024) added to my knowledge.                       SUNNU GOLWALLA Karachi, Pakistan sunnu.golwalla@gmail.com ...
