The presence of priests adds solemnity to wedding/navjote rituals

The functions to celebrate weddings and navjotes may be fewer, the gatherings smaller, the patru more expensive, but the presence of priests remains constant and reminds hosts and guests that they are participating in a religious event. Parsiana approached 13 of the High Priests, scholar priests and panthakies to ascertain whether: the number of invitations to officiate at wedding/navjote ceremonies has declined in the last five years, if there are sufficient priests to join in the prayers, if the ashodad (compensation/gift) offered is adequate, whether there are any changes in the performance of rituals performed, if they perform marriages of interfaith......
