“Meticulous mentor”

I’d like to add a few words to the tributes paid to my maternal grandfather Dr Parvez Hakim in "Meticulous mentor” (Parsiana, September 21-October 6, 2024). Unfortunately I never got to witness much when he was in his prime, but I have heard stories and I am overwhelmed with pride and joy when listening to those who knew him or had been treated by him about his successes, the difference he made and the impact he had on the families of those he treated. I will forever respect his perseverance and bravery because he never gave up no matter what tragedies he had to face.   Drs Pilloo (l) and Pervez Hakim He and my maternal grandmother Dr Pilloo taught us the true meaning of equality by treating each patient equally, no matter what their background. They taught us the importance of life, to appreciate the little things, to have gratitude and never once take those around us for granted.                                                        AVA NAHID PILGRIM Hoi An, Vietnam  avavava3ck@gmail.com  ...
