Roshan’s Gathas

Wanting to know what her Prophet taught prompted Roshan Desai as a young woman to study Avesta and Pahlavi in an attempt to translate the Gathas into English. Now 86 years old, the Colaba based philosophy and psychology graduate said she had studied the ancient languages under the guidance of the late Dasturs (Drs) Hormazdyar Mirza and Kaikhusroo JamaspAsa.    Roshan Desai: self learning Facsimile copies of her spiral bound book, The Monotheism of Zarathushtra: Where Logic and Ethics Converge, with handwritten corrections are available with her (roshandesai1938@gmail.com) for Rs 100. She says the cost is even greater than the price, but is prepared to give the book free if the buyer is a person of limited means but is interested in the subject. The pages, printed on one side only, are unnumbered but would range between 50 and 70. In a four-page introduction Desai states, "Zarathushtra recognized no distinction between man and man on the basis of caste, creed, race or color.”   ...

I was so touched to read about Roshan Desai's self learning of the Gathas and making available to us facsimile copies of her notes in sprial bound book. I would LOVE to buy the book and give ten-fold the price with love! Sadly I live in Pakistan!
