Life in ancient Persia

People were very simple folk/ Led a very simple life/ Toiling away from sunrise/ To the setting of the sun/ Working their fingers/ To the bone. After a hard day’s work/  They wanted relaxation/ Since there were no TVs or cell phones/ Or any kind of electronic devices/ So they would sit around in circles/ On the green soft grass/ Lighting a bonfire/ Under the moonlit night and starry skies/ Clap their hands in unison/ Singing the Gathas of Asho Zarathushtra.                                     FARIDA BAMJI Ottawa, Canada faridabam@gmail.com ...
