"Ainsley Irani, 19, of Cullman, Alabama qualified to compete in Barrel Racing at the 2023 Professional Cowboy Association (PCA) Finals Rodeo in Biloxi, Mississippi, finishing high enough to earn her the title of 2023 PCA Rookie of the Year and 2023 Barrel Racing Average Champion. Barrel racing is a rodeo event in which a horse and rider cover a cloverleaf pattern around preset barrels in the fastest time. It requires a combination of the horse’s athletic ability and the equestrian skills of a rider in order to safely and successfully maneuver the horse around three barrels placed in a triangle pattern within a specified arena, it was reported on Wikipedia. If a rider knocks down a barrel, a five-second penalty is added to their time. If the rider touches a barrel or if the barrel just tips, but does not fall to the ground, then there is no penalty.

"Ainsley is passionate about her sport and career and has a wonderful relationship with her horses who relate to her kindness and affection. She’s dedicated to her sport,” conveyed her paternal grandmother Hilla Irani taking pride in the many awards Ainsley has won. The youngster plans to continue professional barrel racing, her riding school and simultaneously teach barrel racing. At a later date she would like to breed her horse Nala and maybe board horses. Ainsley started riding at seven years of age and barrel racing at rodeos at age 12. She was a member of her local rodeo association until she decided to become a professional.
An only daughter, Ainsley receives support from both her parents, father Rustom who is a captain with Atlas Air and mother Ann, a qualified nurse. Both drive long distances with the horse trailer to rodeos in different states and help with taking care of the horses. "There is no Zoroastrian association in their area and Ainsley has been raised in her mother’s Christian church,” mentioned Hilla.
