One of the partners of the iconic Britannia restaurant at Ballard Estate, Meherwan Kohinoor (Gourabian) passed away on May 1, 2018. He was 87. Unlike his outgoing brother Boman, Meherwan preferred to stay in the background greeting regulars at the restaurant with a smile and a nod. Meherwan began his career in Bombay working at Firdausi Restaurant in Parel and then at Sailor Restaurant on P. M. Road. He managed Bastani and Company Restaurant and Bakery at Dhobi Talao for several decades. He spent his final years at Britannia.
He is survived by his wife Pervin Irani (Tafti), son Kuresh, daughter Farzana, and Boman.
