Designer Ashdeen Lilaowala says that he "reinterpreted the crane in saris and stoles” for his last Bombay sale-exhibition on January 30-31, 2019 at Yiamas. Renowned for his ability to combine traditional gara embroidery with new patterns not normally seen on older garas, the show displayed his creation called "Morning Glory” featuring the wading bird along with roosters, ducks and other avian beings on a single sari. The exhibition included about 40 saris, 10 units each of kurta (short tops) and lehenga (long skirts) sets and clutch bags. The focus of the current collection was on Indian wear, he told Parsiana.
