A people’s history

I am a second year PhD student in the Department of English at the George Washington University, Washington  D. C. My areas of interest are South Asian migrations, environmental humanities and cultures of the diaspora. I am working on a book which will span the latter half of the 20th century, a history of the subcontinent, making ordinary citizens my primary sources. The aim is to go beyond a simplistic reading of history as a cause and consequence of events seen through a singular lens.
