"After nearly a decade,” the Indian National Kennel Club, (that believes in "Dogs for a good life, a good life for dogs”), has brought out a calendar, said vice president Phiroze Javeri, over a phone call to Parsiana. Dedicated to the late Rani Layla Patwardhan of Jamkhandi, each page of the 12-month calendar carries a picture of a breed — from Bichon Frise (January) to Shih Tzu (June) to Labrador retriever (December). Patwardhan was, for many years, vice president of the Club, notes the last page of the calendar, which also includes a pen picture of each breed featured. The global associations of the Club include Union Kennels Panamericanos (South America) and World-Cynologic-Hunting-Sports Alliance (Italy), notes the calendar. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines cynology as the scientific study of dogs especially in respect to their natural history.
