Frene Talyarkhan

I am doing research for a documentary which aims to cover topics related to women’s health as covered by magazines over the decades. I have been trying to locate copies of Trend magazine whose editor was Frene Talyarkhan, a noted journalist of her time. She is believed to be the first woman editor in India and the magazine itself was the first picture magazine. I have contacted all the libraries in Bombay, Delhi and Calcutta, but they do not have a copy of the magazine. I wonder whether any of your readers could possibly have copies of this magazine in their personal collection or library? Talyarkhan, better known as Bobby, a popular cricket commentator. He passed away some 26 years ago. Those were the days when Parsi players dominated the game and Parsi commentators, All India Radio. There was no one to equal Bobby or Dickie Rutnagar at cricket commentary. My mother used to get the magazine Women’s Weekly from England until Trend started publishing from Bombay. ...
