This book was inspired by the K. R. Cama Oriental Institute’s 1991 exhibition “Parsika -- The Zoroastrian Story.” The writers, both eminent scholars, trace the “continuous movement” of people from the Iranian plateau to India through the centuries, including as traders. After the fall of the last Zoroastrian empire of Iran, they arrived as refugees. The authors rely on primary sources, such as diaries of early Jain monks, to describe early Parsi life in Gujarat.
